Why Margot Vane
Crafted with purpose
An honest look at how we price our rings, and the gold inside them.
Why Margot Vane
The price, with nothing hidden behind it
Most diamond brands hand you one number and ask you to trust it. A big name, a long retail chain, a markup you can’t see, all folded into a single price tag. We do it the other way around.
Because we sell directly to you and make every piece in-house, there’s no middleman and no retail markup inflating the cost. That alone makes our rings noticeably less than the big-name brands, for the same lab-grown diamond, the same certification, the same quality.
But the real difference is that we’ll show you. We can break down what you’re actually paying for, the diamond and the setting, separately, so you can see exactly where your money goes. No bundled mystery price, no paying extra for a name on a box. Just the stone, the craftsmanship, and an honest margin.
We think that’s how it should work: a beautiful ring, a fair price, and nothing hidden behind it.
-
Direct to you
No middleman, no retail markup. We sell directly, so you’re paying for the ring, not the chain it usually passes through.
-
Made in-house
Every piece is handcrafted to order in our own NYC atelier, which keeps cost in our hands, not a wholesaler’s.
-
Shown, not claimed
We can break the price down, diamond and setting separately, so “fair” isn’t a promise, it’s something you can see.

What we claim, we give
The gold you pay for is the gold you get
In this industry, not every “18k” is really 18k. It’s easy to charge for a higher karat and quietly deliver less, because most people never check what’s actually inside their ring.
We don’t do that. When we say 14k or 18k gold, that’s exactly what you get, and every piece is hallmarked and stamped with its karat, so it’s marked right there on the ring, not just promised on a page. You’re paying for a specific quality of gold, and that’s the gold you receive.
It sounds like it should be the baseline. We just think it’s worth saying plainly, because not everyone honors it.
